The goal of the Coastal Angler’s Association is to “ENSURE OPPORTUNITIES FOR FISHERS OF THE WASHINGTON COAST”
Hatchery fish represent more than 75 percent of the fish caught in Washington.
The WDFW (Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife) had the Humptulips Hatchery at Stevens Creek on the chopping block. They wanted to shut this hatchery down. Doing so would eliminate all fall chinook production, and cut Coho production down to 75 percent (970,000 down to 240,000)!
But the action of a few have saved it for the short term, now we are askng for everyone who fishes out here to give a little back.
Will you do what it takes to save our hatchery? Stevens Creek Hatchery helps produce some of the best King Salmon fishing in the lower 48!
I cant save this beautiful fishery by myself! I need your help, please sign up and show your support for this river that has been home to many fishing memories for generations and hopefully generations to come.
Check back here frequently for news and updates on town hall meetings and other updates or events.
Register and join our forums. This is where we can plan and and see forth a path that will help us accomplish this endeavor.
And lastly, contact your local state representative, congressmen, senators and legislators. Voice your concerns over what is going on, if no one ever says anything how will they ever know?
Thank you,
Joe Superfisky
